Lessons Through Testing

Materials are often judged by how they feel in use, but their performance is shaped much earlier in the process. Testing becomes a way to understand how materials behave, where they succeed, and where they need to be refined.

Exploring Material Behaviour

Before materials are used in products, they are explored through in-house testing. Materials sourced from different streams are tested to understand their behaviour, consistency, and potential for use. Over time, this builds a growing material library, where each material is not just collected, but understood in terms of how it can be processed and applied.

These early tests are not about meeting standards, but about learning. They allow for quick feedback, helping guide decisions around material selection and development.

Tested Performance

As materials move from exploration to application, testing becomes more structured. Products such as foams and furniture are evaluated through internationally accredited laboratories using recognised industry standards. These tests measure properties like compression, durability, and recovery, ensuring that performance is not assumed but verified.

This shift from internal testing to external validation connects material understanding with real-world requirements, allowing products to be developed with greater confidence.

Testing bridges material understanding and real-world performance, ensuring that what is developed is not only functional, but proven.
